Mary Kohav, Founder & Managing Partner

A strategic communications and community relations veteran, DEI and social impact expert, Mary Kohav has been at the forefront of fostering change across the public, private and nonprofit sector in Southern California for more than 25 years. Currently, Mary is Vice President of JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion) and Community Engagement at The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles.

Before joining the Federation, as BSC’s Director of PR and Marketing, Mary led and managed consumer-focused patient empowerment, digital marketing and earned media campaigns for leading global health organizations. She ran branding and marketing campaigns on emerging and cutting-edge health trends working daily with world-renowned surgeons, medical industry innovators and other healthcare influencers.

Before joining BSC, Mary helped private sector clients compete for, win and implement public sector RFPs while also leading social media and digital marketing campaigns for social justice nonprofits.

As Associate VP at the Lee Andrews Group, Mary managed strategic public affairs services for clients in the environmental, real estate, transportation and health-related industries including AQMD, Grand Avenue Project, Port of Los Angeles and LA World Airports, and led one of the nation’s foremost clean energy campaigns for the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power.

A public speaker and published author, Mary is a board member at Center for Powerful Public Schools and an alumni of The Jewish Federation’s Rautenberg New Leaders Project. Mary holds a BA in Philosophy with a minor in Women’s Studies from the University of Michigan and a Masters in Public Policy from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs (SPA) and has been awarded with SPA’s Alumna of the Year Award for excellence in community service, professional achievement, public service and university service.
